Standard Barrier
Alltech’s range of vehicle barriers provides positive, dependable access control for all vehicle entry / exit scenarios. The boom arm will be lifted in response to any legitimate input signal, which may be derived from a number of sources, e.g. coded cards, tokens, remote push button, key, ticket machine, computer, loop detector, etc. A buried vehicle detector loop acts as a safety device to ensure the boom arm will not lower whilst a vehicle is present, and provides the closing signal to allow the boom arm to be lowered as the vehicle moves off of the buried loop.

High Security barrier
The GRIPPA is a standard vehicle barrier with a few modifications. One of these is the addition of immobilising “spikes” which protrude above ground level when the barrier is in the closed position.
Therefore, in the closed position, the barrier arm (boom pole) is in the horizontal position (blocking traffic flow), and the immobilising “spikes” are exposed. In the open position, the barrier arm (boom pole) is in the vertical position (allowing traffic flow) and the immobilising “spikes” are recessed into a road mounted tray assembly (buried below road surface).
The GRIPPA has been to be “active” continuously, i.e. the immobilising “spikes” are always visible and “engaged”, and is “de-activated” (allows traffic flow) by a valid input signal. This is in stark contrast to the commonly available “road blocker” which is normally “de-activated”, and is only activated (vehicle immobilisation) in an emergency.
The GRIPPA can be triggered by any number of activation devices, e.g. card reader, pushbutton, transmitter, etc. The control unit accepts a N/O and signal across two contacts.
